shackels

Thursday October 15^th, Mark 10: ¹⁷As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"  The question itself betrays the problem.  What must “I” do to be saved?!!!  As if “I” and “do” have anything to do with salvation.  Jesus does give him a way to be aware of his salvation, and an invitation to become a part of the process, as well as a part of the community of God.  Alas, in the end it was too much to give up.  What are the shackles holding us to this world???  What must we jettison in our lives in order to see and accept the forgiveness given by the love of God in Christ?
